The Hadac family is a loving,strong and courageous family who fighting a battle against DIPG, a form of pediatric brain cancer. Their oldest daughter, Cari, who is 9yrs old was recently diagnosed. I had the privilege of photographing their family a few weeks ago with Dave Lightfoot of Lightfoot Productions who captured the session on film.

Virginia Sessions Part ONE
I had a great time being in Virginia seeing old clients and meeting new ones. I was able to escape the midwest chill and warm up some in the VA sun while capturing lots of smiles and laughs.
I really do love that have had the privilege to photograph this family since big brother was just born. I love watching them grow up through my lens! As the little guy gets bigger there is a new dynamic to the brothers relationship which is just plain FUN! So here is a little sneak peek for you K! I know you have been anxiously waiting...

spring is almost here
Winters are hellishly LONG here in the midwest. We run out of salt, wear through shovels, have special tires, multiple pairs of mittens and boots and happily freak out at the first signs of spring.
Maybe its my imagination, but I think there is a greenish tint to the grass today. I know it will be cold again before it returns to a steady warmth, but I'll take what I can get while I can get it! 60 degrees yesterday and 70 today. Wind. Birds. Bouncing balls. Laughing children. Open windows. T shirts. SUN!!!!!!!!!!!
The following image is not a new one, but one of my favorites that was a random and impulsive shot as I was running through an apple orchard chasing a few clients kids. I love the colors and it makes me think of warmth and sun. Happy Almost Spring!!!!

A beautiful and snowy day at the capital. An intimate wedding and family photos. These little boys were so sweet and had the most beautiful eyes! I always enjoy meeting my clients and had a lot of fun on this particular day!

Virginia sessions part one
I am so behind on updating this blog with the adorable faces of my clients from my recent trip to VA. Here are a couple of shots that make me smile from one family. There are so many but if i shared them all at this crazy time I would never sleep! Wait..I hardly do that anyway! Many more to come... I am just getting started....

and the magic number is... 7
While I was away this past weekend back in VA I stayed with our good friends. We've been friends for 6+ years and I have known them since there were only three tots. Soon after the friendship began the license plate read 5 TOTS. About a year after that the license plate had to be changed to 6 TOTS. ( 9 months prior It had been football season and to those two the Baltimore Ravens apparently are an afrodisiac!) It was always a good time and our two families became like one big family and our kids thought they were all brothers and sisters. Then football season happened yet once again.... and after peeing on a stick while on vacation in VT together Lucky Number 7 was on the way! Now the license plate reads 7KIDDOS. These kids are family to me. Their mom is like a sister and I even had the privilege of watching little Lucky Number 7 come into this world. I miss these guys terribly and love that I get to see them as often as I do despite the distance now between us.
During my stay we rounded up the troops for a mini session to try and get a pic for a Christmas card. After several different settings I told them to run out into the culdesac and stand in a line side by side. It kills me that they lined up perfectly in order of age with out being instructed to!! I absolutely LOVE this shot and in my opinion it captured them perfectly!
